Funny Stuff
Years ago they used to preach "O we are going to walk on streets of gold." I would say, "I don't need the gold up there. I've got to have it down here.

News: Finding new preterists
Posted on Sunday, March 02 @ 15:31:58 PST by Virgil

Mailbag Stephanie, a new member of the website wrote My name is Stephanie and I recently joined the site and I am looking for other preterists to talk to in California. Can you tell me about other preterists in California and how I would be able to contact them. Thank you.

Anyone from California willing to connect with Stephanie and invite her to a Bible study if she is in your neighborhood?

I am in the Los Angeles area (west San Fernando Valley). I don't have a Bible study but I would be glad to converse with Stephanie, or even start a Bible study if she is in my area. If you are listening Stephanie my e-mail is.

Stephanie raises a really good point. Preterist Archive has or had a contact list that has helped us make some new friends. Perhaps a feature like that here would work.

California's kinda big. Can Stephanie narrow down her location?

FWIW, I'm in the Monterey area starting mid-March.

Stephanie,

Mars Hill Club, answers.org, meeting in Lakewood, 1st & 3rd Thursdays

Ephphatha Philosophical Association, meeting in Orange, 2nd and 4th Mondays

Neither of these groups are preterist, but they will be.

Two and a half years ago, I left Fairview CoC in Garden Grove when the preacher called preterists heretics. That shocked them seriously and they have changed dramatically.

The database over there is sorely outdated, with no way to update the entries short of adding a completely new entry, without being to delete the old one (all with no date on it).

Since Todd has all but abandoned preterism, I think this is becoming the predominant site for preterism on the web. This map is update-friendly and is useful.

The only thing I would ask is that everyone take a minute to add their name to the map. If you are not from Michigan, would you consider moving to Northwest Michigan? It's lonely up here. Flannery0 is several hours away (I'll still get down and see her though one of these days).

thanks JL for finding the map. I'd forgotten about it.
