PlanetPreterist Columns by Timothy P. Martin
The wait is nearly over! Beyond Creation Science: New Covenant Creation from Genesis to Revelation is on its way to the printer. We expect to receive the new books by the end of February. We are now taking pre-publication orders. This is your chance to get the earliest delivery of the book and the best possible price!

We are also pleased to announce a new website dedicated to further investigation and discussion of a covenant view of creation and consummation. The Introduction and Chapter 1 of the new book are currently available on this new site. You are invited to visit BeyondCreationScience.com.

The front cover design of the book creates a favorable first impression. The art by Jim Kessler, used on both front and back covers, will draw many potential readers to add Beyond Creation Science to their library. The quality of this book is top-notch at every level.

Here is the synopsis from the back cover:

“What holds the attention of Christians today? Genesis. The debates over creation captivate the attention of millions. Revelation. Prophetic studies captivate the attention of millions. What if these two contentious issues are really two sides of the same debate?

This book will help you see these contemporary issues in a whole new light. Tim Martin and Jeff Vaughn turn every stone. What is revealed at the end is a view of the entire Bible that is a unified whole from Genesis to Revelation. This book is about the story the Bible tells.”

Pre-publication reviewers of this book have offered many positive comments:

“Sacred cows die hard. Yet, this work by Martin/Vaughn has fired some heavy duty shots at two sacred cows, prophetic futurism and the global flood / young earth view of Genesis. The authors' noble aim is to harmonize two inextricably related topics, protology (the story of the beginning) and eschatology (the story of "the end"). You will find that this book is logical, scriptural and stimulating. You will also find much of what they say challenging, perhaps disturbing. You may well struggle with their conclusions. But, engage the struggle! Read this book!

– Don K. Preston, President, Preterist Research Institute, www.Eschatology.org

“I expect this book will become a standard work in creation and prophetic studies for many years to come. Highly recommended!”

– Walt Hibbard, PreteristViewpoint.com, Founder & Former Chairman Great Christian Books, Inc,Original Signer, 9.5 Theses of the Next Reformation

We think you will agree that this is a must-have book. It will challenge you to think deeply, not just about the past, but about the future as well. Beyond Creation Science is 530+ pages long and integrates the contemporary debate over creation with the contemporary debate over eschatology. If you want to see how the implications of preterism impact burning issues at the forefront of Christian dialogue today, this book is for you!

Beyond Creation Science is also a book that you can give to your non-preterist friends. The first four chapters are an introduction to the basic ideas of preterism designed especially for those who are not familiar with covenant eschatology. Many who read this book will be challenged to consider the strength of the preterist view of biblical prophecy on many, many different levels. We expect this book will show many Christians who are involved in the current discussion over Genesis why eschatology is so important! Are you tired of arguing preterism merely from the time-statement proof-texts? This book applies preterism from Genesis to Revelation.

The retail price is $ 25.00 (plus shipping). This pre-publication offer makes the book available to you for $20.00, postpaid! This offer is good for a limited time only. Those who take advantage of this offer will receive their copy signed by either Jeff Vaughn or Tim Martin (please specify your choice); you can get the signature of the other author on your copy when you catch them at a preterist conference in 2008. Purchase of 10 copies or more will receive an even better deal – $15.00 per copy, postpaid. Full cases are available for $11.88 per book (24 books, $285), postpaid anywhere in the United States. (These books will not be signed before shipping.)

What people are saying:

“Excellent! Rather than beginning with a conclusion and forcing the data to fit, the authors treat both biblical and scientific data with respect and integrity. This important work may not answer every question, and doesn't claim to, but it moves the studies of creation and eschatology forward."

– Terry Hall, Miami Valley Church of Christ, Xenia, OH, Original Signer, 9.5 Theses of the Next Reformation

“New Covenant Creation is not only a method of interpretation of the Bible, but a paradigm or worldview. This changes everything!”

– Akinori Taniguchi, Preterism Japan, www.Kingdoman777.hp.infoseek.co.jp/

Beyond Creation Science offers a fresh and new perspective on the study of Creation and the Flood, which inadvertently sparks a new understanding of the End, or of eschatology. Properly understanding the Creation and the age of the universe can help us better understand the nature and timing of the Kingdom of God and the importance of placing Scripture in its correct socio-cultural context. This is a must-read book!”

– Virgil Vaduva, Founder, PlanetPreterist.com

“I agreed to proof read this new publication. From the description I was given I thought there would be one or two things I would agree with but overall it seemed a bit beyond the pail. Today I stand in awe of the authors who have put together a book that has turned my previous views on their head. This book will excite any Preterist as they see the last pieces of the Fulfilled Prophecy puzzle fall into place.”

– Jack Gibbert, Conference Speaker

“A whole new look at the Bible which magnifies the glory of redemption and gives pre-eminence to the cross of Christ, from Genesis to Revelation.”

– Tami Jelinek, NewCreationMinistries.tv

“This is a monumental piece of work that Tim and Jeff have done. It's well-written, logically laid out, tightly argued, and I've learned a great deal from it. I highly recommend this book to serious students of last things, the flood, Babel, and the creation. I think it will really grab your attention. It deserves to make a real mark in this area of study.”

– Samuel G. Dawson, www.gospelthemes.com (Author of The Teaching of Jesus: From Mount Sinai to Gehenna: A Faithful Rabbi Urgently Warns Rebellious Israel)

“The time taken and research done on this work was at great expense, and the endeavor to ensure the facts presented in this book was done right. This book needs to be considered by all who call themselves Christian, and hold to fulfilled eschatology!”

– Pastor Mike Palevo, New Life Tabernacle of Chattanooga

“This is a work that will be realized and appreciated by all when looking back in history to study what the causes and drivers were of the Modern Reformation and Preterist movement.”

– Brian Kimball, www.PreteristPlanet.com

“As an artist, I know that vision is the key that unlocks the imagination... They have captured the essence of the covenant relationship from Genesis to Revelation and this work will bless many people as a result”

– Jim Kessler, Artist, InChristVictorious.com

“Tim Martin and Jeff Vaughn have written ‘the’ book that addresses the weaknesses of Young-Earth Creationism, Theistic Evolution, Flood Geology, Creation Science and Intelligent Design. As they demonstrate the human origins or the flaws in human interpretations of scripture and science espoused by these various theories, they create a theological framework which unites forever the Bible with Science and Genesis with Revelation. Readers may agree or disagree with the conclusions, but will know it is the new foundation for all arguments.”

– Mickey Denen, MD

“You guys have presented a clear covenantal argument using Scripture that OEC is not just a competitive view over YEC, but the clear Biblical view. Thanks for your book.”

– Jesse Ahmann, Musician, JesseAhmann.com

“If you think you completely understand the ‘last things’, think again. How can one fully understand the end of a story without fully understanding its beginning? Covenant Eschatology has certainly made great strides in presenting God’s fulfilled plan of redemption from within its proper historical covenantal framework, but what of the beginning? Since the “end” is covenantal, perhaps this speaks volumes to the nature of the beginning… today there’s a new kid on the block and it goes Beyond Creation Science.”

– Richard Duncan, Engineer

“How does one appropriately recommend a work which appears capable of altering the Christian worldview for future generations? When a proclamation was posted to the door in 1517 there was uncertainty just what would be the outcome. Today we may be entering the throes of another period of epoch changes which will again challenge elements of the religious world’s views. I encourage prospective readers to examine and consider for themselves this rectifying biblical proposition that is being nailed anew to religion’s door.”

– Norman Voss, Small Business Owner

“Martin and Vaughn's Covenant Creation model may just be the missing piece in the redemptive puzzle. I believe that as preterists and old earth creationists embrace each other as fellow "book-ends," we will see a flood (perhaps this one will be global) of books and articles that build upon what is being put forth by these two fine brothers. It is my hope that all believers will read with an open mind, and in this book be the next open door to understanding the scriptures.”

– Edward Burley, MA LLPC

"As the failure of modern prophecy "experts" have given rise to a malaise about our future, the propensity of many Christian scientists to manipulate evidence to support a young-earth creation has muddied the waters about our spiritual origins. Tim and Jeff are offering Christians a clearly argued and timely challenge to reexamine the beginnings of the covenant community in Genesis and, we hope, rekindle a passion for Christians to live in the New Covenant garden of grace in Christ Jesus."

Timothy King, Restoration Ministries, Grand Junction, CO, Restorationgj.com

“Throughout Beyond Creation Science, Martin and Vaughn tug on every dangling thread of YEC's sweater until it is left naked. The authors pay special attention not only to the complexities of human language but also to the fundamental differences that exist between peoples separated by time and space. By adopting this culturally attuned approach, and thus situating the biblical text in its proper context, they avoid the problems that have plagued other methods of interpretation, namely, anachronism and ethnocentrism. Their case is compelling, and, I believe, long overdue. The work of Martin and Vaughn in this area of biblical studies cannot be ignored.”

– Jeremy Lile, Conference Speaker & Studmuffin

Genesis 1-11 and Revelation 1-22. 33 little chapters filled with so much information yet seemingly so much confusion. Recognizing the symbolism in Genesis 1-11 certainly does answer a lot of questions. A lot like my shift from futurism to preterism. Makes me wonder why I didn't see it sooner. Great work guys.

– Michael Loomis, On Air Talent and Production Assistant, KWVE 107.9 Southern California

“Many authors (even those among the preterists) often go away into multi-year seclusion, writing their 800+ page tomes that certain groups of people then go ga-ga over for many years after. Mr. Martin has done his work in the open where his brothers & sisters can review, encourage, & critique his work as he goes instead of dropping a manifesto on us every few years. I commend Martin’s approach.”

– Roderick Edwards, TheKingdomCome.com [Comment on 2nd edition of Beyond Creation Science]

“The old-earth, young-earth stuff is nothing new. Tim Martin has not invented anything new here. The allegorical interpretation of Genesis has been around since the days of Origen. This is nothing new.”

– Samuel Frost, RCM Radio 11/24/07

“Preterism is simply warmed over allegorical interpretation, which tries desperately to get rid of most normal understandings of future prophetic themes.”

– Mal Couch, President, Tyndale Seminary

Let me be the first to say "congratulations" to you guys. I know first hand how difficult a task like this can be and I am glad to see that you finished it and you finished it after much criticism and attacking. Congrats! :)

2008 will be yet another great year for Preterism! Praise God!

It was at a PlanetPreterist conference several years ago that I first came across Tim's first book. It was the only book I brought home with me and I can't begin to explain the impact that $3.00 book had on my way of thinking at that point in my Christian walk.

God's timing is always perfect and it wasn't long afterwards that I became friends with Tim and Jeff and was involved in the artwork for this upcoming book. This is the main thing I want others here to know. This work has its foundation rooted in Scripture. I know first hand the time, sacrifice and research that went into its pages and the prayers that got them through.

My work was completed on this project just several weeks ago with the last original painting being completed. I know their character and the integrity in which they conduct their lives. This book reflects those traits.

Read Beyond Creation Science with an open mind. If you will be honest with yourself, it will challenge you to search the Scriptures even more.

That alone is worth the price of admission:-)

I was Old Earth when Old Earth wasn’t cool: wasn’t that the way the C&W song went?

I spent years struggling with my Genesis understandings because I was still reading it with the physical eyes with which I was indoctrinated by contemporary religious dogma.

When I stumbled on to Tim’s article from a Google search two years ago I did not realize at first just what a mind blowing experience I would be in for during the next two years. It has taken me almost all that two years to come to the knowledge that is found in this one book. Tim and Jeff have performed a masterpiece in many ways and the religious world will never be the same.

Without you, this book would not be.

Without Norm, Jim, Mark, a couple of Mikes, Tami, and about 50 other people, this book would not be what it is. So thank-you all.

The real proof is in the impact. That will require time. Whitcomb and Morris' book took 10 years and 200,000 copies sold, along with the tireless efforts of hundreds of others, to make the entire evangelical church forget it's old-earth creationism and adopt the YEC scheme.

It will take something similar, even bigger, to get the modern church to forget their YECism and dispensationalism as thoroughly as they have forgotten what they once believed.

Thanks to all. Please book the Dayton Covention Center for Truth Voice 2018.

To Tim and JL,

I congratulate you on finally bringing your long journey to a successful completion. I know how difficult the job has been and the stress it creates particularly on your loved ones.

However, I do not understand many of the remarks that are being made. Unless Tim is repudiating the ideas and conclusions he has held in his previous book on this subject. There is no question that anyone who has studied, critically examined and rejected the arguments in the first book, must now keep an open mind to this new book as though it were the first time this information were being made public or that no one in the past has posed the same premises.

I appreciate the authors posting the Introduction and first chapter on their website. I plan to purchase my copy for my library at Truth Voice 2008, I will gain the additional advantage of having both authors on hand for both signatures at that time. In the mean time I am certain there will be more than one critical review written before then and maybe the authors will be able to respond to those criticisms at the conference.
