Preterism: Listen to Don K. Preston Live, in Hawaii...Or Around the World--Jan. 5th!
Posted on Tuesday, January 01 @ 16:12:27 PST by Don Preston

Announcements On January 5, 2008, Don K. Preston will be interviewed live, on a radio station that covers the entire state of Hawaii. The program is hosted by Gary Parrish. The program will focus on Paul’s fascinating, and somewhat difficult statements in Romans 11.26ff, "And so, all Israel shall be saved..." These verses have been, and continue to be, a source of discussion and controversy in the theological world. The dispensationalists says that Romans 11 predicts a yet future conversion of the majority of Jews, immediately before the second coming of Christ, at the end of the Tribulation period.

The postmillennialists claim that Romans 11 refers to a yet future conversion of a great number of Jews at the end of the current Christian age.

The amillennialists, claims that Romans 11 has nothing to do with eschatology, but rather, the conversion of individual Jews throughout the entirety of the Christian age.

So, as you can see, there is a wide range of variety of views on this enigmatic text.

However, did you know that there are several major facts, in the text of Romans 11, that demand that this prophecy was fulfilled in the first century, in Christ’s judgment parousia against Israel? It is only by ignoring these textual parameters and the prophetic background and source of Romans 11 that one can get a futurist interpretation out of it! Romans 11.26f was indeed fulfilled in the first century, at the coming of the Lord.

You can listen to this important discussion, on your radio, or on the Internet. On the radio, on the island of Hawaii, you can listen on 760AM KGU. You can listen on their web-site www.KGUradio.com also. Just click "listen live."

The times for the program, by time zone, are, 1:05pm PST, 2:05 MOUNTAIN, 3:05 CENTRAL, and 4:05 EST.

Be sure to listen in! Call-ins will be allowed time permitting.

Wow,

Sounds like a very cool gig and opportunity for Preterist exposure.

I'm sure Don and most seasoned Preterists here know what makes up the major keys to the premise of who is "Israel," who is Abraham's "Seed," and to whom do the "Promises" belong.

Most of the keys to Romans 11:26 are in Romans itself, at Romans 9:6,7 & 9:27, etc., and then at Galatians 3:16.

They're also woven throughout the Gospels, they're in the direct teachings of Christ, and in the O.T., too.

Interestingly, most N.T. translations do get Galatians 3;16 right by rendering "Seed" as just that, or as "Offspring," both of which work, because they can be taken as a singular or a plural. I think it is, surprisingly, the NASB that gets it wrong by translating it as "Descendants," which clearly defies the context of what Paul is arguing from the O.T. at Galatians 3, because "descendants" is only a plural and wronly makes the "promises" a genetic affair, which helps make a Dispensational case, however accidentally or dishonestly.

Gal 3:16 Now to Abraham and his seed [singular, as in capital "S", that is Christ] were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds [i.e., Jews not automatically considered to be Israel or Abraham's seed, nor heirs of the promises], as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.

Christ, and not Jews, is "The Seed" to whom the "promises" were ultimately and legally made.

Gal 3:7-9 Know ye therefore that they which are of faith [regardless of genetics], the same are the children of Abraham. And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham [who wasn't an Israelite or Jewish], saying, In thee shall all nations [tribes or people] be blessed. So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.

Ro 9: 6 ¶ Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel [spiritually speaking], which are of Israel [genetically speaking]:

Ro 9:7 Neither, because they are the [genetic] seed of Abraham, are they all children [imputed as Abraham's seed]: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called [by faith].

Ro 9:27 Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of [genetic] Israel be as the sand of the sea, [only] a remnant [of genetic Jews with faith in Christ] shall be saved:

Luke 1:54 & 55 He hath holpen his servant Israel [implied in the singular sense], in remembrance of his mercy; As he spake to our fathers, to Abraham, and to his Seed [implied in the singular sense] for ever.

Lu 19:9 And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation [through faith and repentence, not because he was Jewish] come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham.

Joh 8:33 They answered him, We be Abraham’s seed [in the plural sense], and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free?

Joh 8:37 I know that ye are Abraham’s seed [in the plural, genetic sense]; but ye seek to kill me, because my word hath no place in you.

Rev 3:9 Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews [as claimed by the Jews that Christ encountered earlier and throughout his earthly lifetime], and are not [spiritually speaking, as Christ earlier admitted to their genetics at John 8:37], but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.

And I think we all know that Christ words in John's vision were very strong, and implied not that Christians should accept or expect Jews to worship them, but that Christians would soon know that the fulfillment of that was in the soon-coming total destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD, which was also the source of persecution against the early Church.

So, as I've listened to a few dozen MP3 recorded radio programs by Don Preston i

Well,

I'm now wondering if an MP3 recording of this radio program will be made available for downloading via the KGU website or someplace else. I'm on dial-up, which will sometimes make even streaming audio difficult.

John Anderson's website no longer seems to make MP3 recordings free for listening or downloading, and I forget if Don Preston has a website where MP3s might be posted.

Peace to you all,
C. Livingstone

Well,

Did anyone catch the broadcast?

What was your impression, and can an MP3 of it be found somewhere?

Peace to you all,
C. Livingstone
