by Timothy Berman Several years ago, I had signed up to become a columnist here at Planet Preterist. Several years ago, life had taken on a different road and I had long forgotten anything about any online discussions I have had and I am now making a return to all the online discussions I used to enjoy. These discussions mainly entail religious studies, critical examination, and online debates.
One of the things that I have also rediscovered is my initial love of writing. Coupling this with studying the Bible, various doctrines and discussing them, I find it fulfilling and unique.
What I will be presenting is a first in a serious of articles that examine the nature of the Great Apostasy as it is understand within the confines of LDS (Latter-day Saints; or The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) doctrine and teachings, compared to historical records and historical documentation and Biblical understanding.
These critical arguments and examinations will be representative of my own thoughts and my on conclusions as to why I can, in good conscience, accept such a doctrine as being truly Biblical.
Also, I have (at one time) been a full time member of the LDS church until I was disfellowshipped. When I had received a full pardon, my records never were amended and I was requested to undergo a second disciplinary council to update my records and undergo a second "repentance" process for the same sin I had confessed and abandoned.
This was a first in a series of eye opening experiences that began to seed questions in my heart and mind.
I no longer prescribe to the doctrines of Mormonism, and I believe it to be a dangerous doctrine that spiritually blinds those who are convinced they belong to the true Church.
I have seen the dark cloud of spiritual bondage over them, I have seen the spiritual chains wrapped around these meaningful individuals who are very well gifted individuals.
My attempt here is not to convince Mormon's that they are in error, my attempt is to share with those who are interested why I no longer can accept Mormonism as a restored Gospel of Truth.
Along with these articles, I will also present scriptural reasoning from my own perspective as how I understand and see scripture being revealed.
I look forward in sharing with one and all, engaging with one and all about the doctrines of Christian Truth and Cultic religions and share how the Truth is Jesus Christ.

I look forward to reading your thoughts. Well not reading your thoughts as in being an empath or anything like that, but reading what you have on your mind.

Good to hear that your eyes to the truth of Mormonism have been opened. Tell me, was your coming out of the Mormon Church associated in any way from a person (Christian) being willing to share the truth with you?
I just happen to have a couple of JW's coming to my house this Saturday to "talk". I often wonder how effective that is. One thing about us talking this Saturday is they are really interested in me because I hold that Christ has returned already. They of course hold to this too, but to them His return was in 1914, which is when the "last days" started.
Anyway, just wondering how your whole journey down the road of truth came about.
