(User Info | Send a Message) | Sound is almost nonexistent, it started out ok but then dropped after a short time. Seems to be picking up noise from an extraneous microphone somewhere also that could be overiding the main speakers microphone. May need to turn it off.

(User Info | Send a Message) | Ok, I really liked the last speaker (didn't catch his name) and the discussion afterwards. But let me vent a wee bit here...
The Rob Bell vignettes between the talks really annoy me. I don't so much have issues with what he's saying per se, but the video production coupled with his speaking style and metrosexual look seem so sickeningly "hip", so hyper-anti-mainstream Christianity, so Jesus-just-wants-to-snuggle-ish...
The non-Christians I know would look at these videos as ultra sappy, created by people that want so badly to just be liked and considered relevant. Much of what he's saying has real validity, but just give me the book version, please! |

That was a very useful lecture you presented which just helps solidify and reinforce my understanding of the word. I especially loved one of your quotes from someone
“Myth was telling the truth”
That could be considered as a very creative and thought-provoking way of expressing the answer to Pilate’s famous words found in Johns fabulous Gospel “what is truth”.

Hey I appreciated it! The video didn't always come through but the audio mostly did. Who was the second to the last guy on the second day (I think Jack Scott was the last guy). I would be interested in getting the extensive notes he was teaching from. Could I get a name and contact address? thanks again for this! Are we going to be able to watch ones we missed?

Was he advocating a state of eternal separation from God still, just minus the "eternal conscious torment" idea borrowed from other cultures, or is he a universalist, believing everyone is going to heaven, because hell flat out doesn't exist? |
