TOUR THE WORLD FAMOUS CARLSBAD CAVERNS:(optional)

Friday Morning -- March 9th Costs: Adults $6.00 (Children under 12 Free) We will meet at the caverns just before 8:00 AM on Friday morning (Mar. 9th) for a self-guided tour. The cavern are 22 miles from town. Leave time for travel. Plan on leaving your hotel no later than 7:00 am. There are several tours available, all cost the same ($6, children twelve and under free). The only difference is the length of time and amount of walking. Plan on every bit of three hours in the caverns. Bring a flashlight and a light jacket or sweater, as the caverns can be cool (a constant temperature 50-60 degrees, but walking will keep you pretty warm!). We want everyone out before 11:30 am, so we will have time to eat lunch and start the conference by 1 PM Friday.

12 noon -- Lunch Break

1:00 PM -- Conference Begins (5 afternoon speakers)

6:00 PM -- Afternoon session finished

LODGING:

We have reserved a block of rooms at reduced rates at two of Carlsbad's nicest hotels. You will need to call one of them and make your own reservations. Please remember to mention the Carlsbad Eschatology Conference by name when making your reservations.

Comfort Inn - Phone: 505-887-1994. Room Rate: $60 + tax for 1 person, and $65 + tax for two persons per room, and continental breakfast. This is an indoor hotel, the newest in town.

Best Western Stevens Inn - Phone: 505-887-2851. Room Rate: $60 + tax for 1 or 2 people. The Stevens Inn is a very nice motel, with a restaurant. They have a newer section, so you may want to ask for one of their newer rooms.

DIRECTIONS TO THE CONFERENCE CENTER:

These directions will work for whichever direction you may come from. The hotels are on the main drag.

Take Canal (Hwy 62/180) to Greene; turn east on Greene; cross the Pecos river (1/4 mile); go to Muscatel (1/2 mile) (US Bureau of Land Management offices on corner of Greene and Muscatel); turn west (left); proceed to Pecos River Village on river front (1/2 mile).

There are also maps and directions to the Caverns and Conference center at the Bimillennial Preterist Association web site. Here's the link: www.preteristcentral.com

THINKING OF FLYING IN FOR THE CONFERENCE?

The closest major airports are El Paso, Texas (less than three hours away) or Albuquerque (more than four hours away). You may want to rent a car at the airport. Midland, TX, is available too. Please contact Kurt Simmons for his suggestions regarding this. His contact info is below.

“Comfort Inn - …This is an indoor hotel, the newest in town.”

Wow! An indoor hotel!
This is excellent!
Does that mean all the others are outdoor hotels?
The kind where Pecos Bill stayed?

:)

Ed Stevens will be there? Wow. I thought he didn't "appear" to "support" known ministers who were Planet Preterist columnists. At least that's how he has acted toward me (and told me specifically, dropping me from his book). But, whatever in the wonderful wacky world of Preterism....
