Funny Stuff
"Adam committed high treason; and at that point, all the dominion and authority God had given tohim was handed over to Satan. Suddenly, God was on the outside looking in...After Adam's fall, God found Himself in a peculiar position...God needed an avenue back into the earth...God laid out His proposition and Abram accepted it. It gave God access to the earth and gave man access to God...Technically, if God ever broke the Covenant, He would have to destroy Himself."

When Futurism Is Finally Left Behind
Posted on Thursday, August 24 @ 05:25:19 PDT by Chris Charles

Preterism paul submitted: "Not every teaching of the Faith is equal. We all know this. Not every mis-teaching of the Faith is equal, either. So, we try to prioritize our arguments among family, friends, and fellow worshippers. As we seek to persuade one another in regard to the issues of end times, it is good to ask ourselves, as Christians embracing preterism, "What is is big payoff for seeing more and more spiritually minded Christians come to be equally confident that future-fulfillment of end times events is a hindrance, and that completion of end times events in Century One is an important asset to both church and state?" What do we anticipate, for the good, when past fulfillment of the main events of Bible prophecy becomes the Christian norm?

For one thing, friendship with the modern secular State of Israel will be based upon the simple principle that individuals, families, and nations should always honor solid friendships. It will cease to be motivated by the fear that disagreement with Jews, nor love for Arabs, is somehow in contradiction of some Biblical command!

For another thing, children growing up in solidly evangelical-minded households who are fascinated with great scientific curiosity will cease to experience guilt over whether or not anything they find credible in the study of what is regarding as science will undermine their love for the Creator, Redeemer and Ruler. The emotional disconnect will not hinder any child from pursuing a holy curiosity for the science lab. (It will remain responsible for parents to urge their children to discern between what is actually verifiable as science, and what amounts to secular humanist prejudice posing as science.)But, when Christian kids come to doubt that God timed Himself with 24-hour days when He brought into existence all that we sense and observe, including ourselves.

Celebrations of the glorification of believing loved ones who die will probably increase. Not only will Christians be certain that the departed is "in a better place", as we often say at funerals, but will be just as positively certain that the person who leaves this world with hope in Jesus Christ is immediately perfected, including an eternal spiritual body!

Freedom will explode to escape conspiracy theories, and explore the future of mankind as an everlasting expansion of the benefits of God's covenant with man. Yes, there are probably evil conspiracies of one kind or another going on all of the time. But, no, it is not given to us to expect that the 1st Century Armageddon is ever to be repeated! That occurred when the Wrath of the Lamb ended the world (i.e. "age of animal sacrifices) and brought in the New Jerusalem, the Wife of the Lamb, the Church among all nations, wherein God produces spiritual worshippers in each new generation who offer Him spiritual sacrifices of praise and thanksgiving in the assembly of Christians.

Greater recognition of the amazing prophetic miracle which occurred in Century One will likely increase the passion among believers for the kind of believing which is highly practical in problem-solving, too. An increased appreciation for logic, without an addiction to excessive philosophy, will give Americans the political will to reduce federal spending as a proportion of the GDP, thus expanding economic opportunity. It will facilitate the search for easy to produce and sustainable energy resources, thus solving the present reliance on fossil fuels.

These are only a tiny fraction of what I believe to be the great benefits derived for all people, both in Christ and not, from a victory of past fulfilled thinking over anticipation of massive Middle East destruction! God bless.

I would concur with what Paul has stated above. In addition it will force Christians of all persuasions to reexamine their beliefs in other areas of theology. It will generate a more serious approach to scripture and the historical validity of the words of Christ. As individually we grow in the knowledge of the Lord so corporately the church will take a giant step forward in the knowledge of the Lord.

Yes, I have noticed that even futurists want to believe that their loved ones are with the LORD when they go to their funeral services. God has placed eternity in our hearts and the idea of “soul sleep” or being with the LORD in some sort of non-body nakedness doesn’t really set well during a time of mourning. If I say “blessed are they who die in the LORD from henceforth” does that bring comfort or upset their doctrine?

Paul,

Thank you for submitting an article on the benefits and the "so what" of fulfilled eschatology. I believe that we need to address this more than we have in the past. If a fulfilled worldview was dominant instead of futuristic, it would change the face of the planet for the better - the Gospel would truly be Good News!
