A fortune teller cannot tell the future of a believer, because demons plan the life of an unbeliever. See, every unbeliever, when born, his life was planned by the demonic or by demons. There is a demon that is given charge over every born baby on planet earth, 'til redemption. -- Benny Hinn, Praise the Lord, Trinity Broadcasting Network, May 13, 1999 |

As some of you know besides editing podcasts, I also do font work for the CAD industry. Well, that is one of the most boring AND tedious activities ever. So, being a major jazz fan I have a huge collection of CDs that I listen to in order to get through the long nights. One of the ones of was listening to today is the seminal recording of Buddy Rich "Live in London". Buddy had his daughter Cathy with him on this gig. In the middle of this rather raucous display of Big Band jazz and brilliant drumming, Cathy and two of the daughters of jazz vocal great Jon Hendricks sing his version of the old gospel tune "I've Got the Lord". It's really a footstomping arrangement and one that really makes me smile every time I hear it.
Well, considering all the "slings and arrows" that many of us are taking these days, I thought I'd pass on their version of the lyrics. So let them be a simple word of encouragement from an odd corner. (If you can get to hear the cut, you're in for a treat - for that matter, the whole album is a classic of modern Big Band).
Take them with a grain of salt and Enjoy!
"I've Got the Lord (and That's Enought)" - Jon Hendricks
Well there was always somebody talking about me, and really I don't mind.
They try to stop me and block my progress, most of the time
But the mean things they say never make me feel bad,
I can not miss a friend that I never had
Well, I've - I got the Lord, and that's enough.
Well, there were so many times that I didn't have a dime,
Couldn't call on nobody but the Lord
Well, He heard my plea and came down to see about me,
He's my Lord of all.
Well, they push me down, He picks me up
He sees me through when the going gets tough
Well, I've - I got the Lord, and that's enough.
Well, well, well, well, He raised me and He saved me
He sought me, and He bought me
He's my keeper, He's my guide,
And I feel Him walking right by my side.
I got the Lord and that's enough!
I got the Lord and that's enough!
I got the Lord and that's enough!
Well, well, well, well, he raised me and he saved me
He sought me, and He bought me
He's my keeper, He's my guide,
I feel Him walking right by my side.
I got the Lord and that's enough!
I got the Lord and that's enough!
I got the Lord and that's enough!
(sax solo)
Well, well, well, well, He raised me and He saved me
He sought me, and He bought me
He's my keeper, He's my guide,
I feel Him walking right by my side.
I got the Lord and that's enough!
I got the Lord and that's enough!
I got the Lord and that's enough!
And that's plenty! (All right!)

Nice song, by the way! Blessed,
