News: Israel readies forces for strike on nuclear Iran
Posted on Sunday, December 11 @ 19:05:40 PST by Virgil

News Israel's armed forces have been ordered by Ariel Sharon, the prime minister, to be ready by the end of March for possible strikes on secret uranium enrichment sites in Iran, military sources have revealed. The order came after Israeli intelligence warned the government that Iran was operating enrichment facilities, believed to be small and concealed in civilian locations.

Iran’s stand-off with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) over nuclear inspections and aggressive rhetoric from Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the Iranian president, who said last week that Israel should be moved to Europe, are causing mounting concern.

The crisis is set to come to a head in early March, when Mohamed El-Baradei, the head of the IAEA, will present his next report on Iran. El-Baradei, who received the Nobel peace prize yesterday, warned that the world was “losing patience” with Iran.

A senior White House source said the threat of a nuclear Iran was moving to the top of the international agenda and the issue now was: “What next?” That question would have to be answered in the next few months, he said.

Defence sources in Israel believe the end of March to be the “point of no return” after which Iran will have the technical expertise to enrich uranium in sufficient quantities to build a nuclear warhead in two to four years.

“Israel — and not only Israel — cannot accept a nuclear Iran,” Sharon warned recently. “We have the ability to deal with this and we’re making all the necessary preparations to be ready for such a situation.”

The order to prepare for a possible attack went through the Israeli defence ministry to the chief of staff. Sources inside special forces command confirmed that “G” readiness — the highest stage — for an operation was announced last week.

Gholamreza Aghazadeah, head of the Atomic Organisation of Iran, warned yesterday that his country would produce nuclear fuel. “There is no doubt that we have to carry out uranium enrichment,” he said.

He promised it would not be done during forthcoming talks with European negotiators. But although Iran insists it wants only nuclear energy, Israeli intelligence has concluded it is deceiving the world and has no intention of giving up what it believes is its right to develop nuclear weapons.

A “massive” Israeli intelligence operation has been underway since Iran was designated the “top priority for 2005”, according to security sources.

Cross-border operations and signal intelligence from a base established by the Israelis in northern Iraq are said to have identified a number of Iranian uranium enrichment sites unknown to the the IAEA.

Since Israel destroyed the Osirak nuclear reactor in Iraq in 1981, “it has been understood that the lesson is, don’t have one site, have 50 sites”, a White House source said.

If a military operation is approved, Israel will use air and ground forces against several nuclear targets in the hope of stalling Tehran’s nuclear programme for years, according to Israeli military sources.

It is believed Israel would call on its top special forces brigade, Unit 262 — the equivalent of the SAS — and the F-15I strategic 69 Squadron, which can strike Iran and return to Israel without refuelling.

“If we opt for the military strike,” said a source, “it must be not less than 100% successful. It will resemble the destruction of the Egyptian air force in three hours in June 1967.”

Aharon Zeevi Farkash, the Israeli military intelligence chief, stepped up the pressure on Iran this month when he warned Israel’s parliament, the Knesset, that “if by the end of March the international community is unable to refer the Iranian issue to the United Nations security council, then we can say the international effort has run its course”.

The March deadline set for military readiness also stems from fears that Iran is improving its own intelligence-gathering capability. In October it launched its first satellite, the Sinah-1, which was carried by a Russian space launcher.

“The Iranians’ space programme is a matter of deep concern to us,” said an Israeli defence source. “If and when we launch an attack on several Iranian targets, the last thing we need is Iranian early warning received by satellite.”

Russia last week signed an estimated $1 billion contract — its largest since 2000 — to sell Iran advanced Tor-M1 systems capable of destroying guided missiles and laser-guided bombs from aircraft.

“Once the Iranians get the Tor-M1, it will make our life much more difficult,” said an Israeli air force source. “The installation of this system can be relatively quick and we can’t waste time on this one.”

The date set for possible Israeli strikes on Iran also coincides with Israel’s general election on March 28, prompting speculation that Sharon may be sabre-rattling for votes.

Benjamin Netanyahu, the frontrunner to lead Likud into the elections, said that if Sharon did not act against Iran, “then when I form the new Israeli government, we’ll do what we did in the past against Saddam’s reactor, which gave us 20 years of tranquillity”.

TEHRAN MINISTER MET MILITANTS BEFORE NEW OFFENSIVE

Iran’s foreign minister met leading figures from three Islamic militant groups to co-ordinate a united front against Israel days before a recent escalation of attacks against Israeli targets shattered fragile ceasefires with Lebanon and the Palestinians, writes Hugh Macleod in Damascus.

The minister, Manouchehr Mottaki, held talks with leaders of Hamas, Islamic Jihad and Hezbollah in Damascus on November 15.

Among those who attended the meeting were Khaled Meshaal, the Hamas leader, and a deputy leader of Islamic Jihad, which claimed responsibility for last Monday’s suicide bombing of a shopping mall in Netanya that killed five Israeli citizens.

Ahmed Jibril, leader of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine- General Command, was also present. “We all confirmed that what is going on in occupied Palestine is organically connected to what is going on in Iraq, Syria, Iran and Lebanon,” said Jibril.

Seven days after the talks, Hezbollah fired a volley of rockets and mortars at Israeli targets, sparking the fiercest fighting between the two sides since Israel’s withdrawal from south Lebanon five years ago.

Reportedly, Ahmadinejad has gone on record as being a firm believer in the twelth Iman myth, which means that he thinks there is going to be an Islamic version of Armageddon that brings about the world rule of Islam under the Shiites' bloody version of a Christ-like figure. Hmm. A big difference between him and some of our dispies who are excited at the prospects of Armageddon in our lifetime is that this nut is the head of government in Iran while our dispies--despite what some posters to this site say--have very limited influence over the making of foreign policy. Some of the ruling mullahs in Iran apparently share Ahmadinejad's (or Ahmageddonjad's) theology while others are cynically going along for the perks. In any event, what's going on in Iran means big trouble, and I suspect our government is working in concert with Israel to deal with the problem. I do hope so. O.k., now call me a warmonger.

Sure,

This has been expected for years.

Wash DC lifted restrictions in the 1980s so US corporations could ensure that Iraq, under Saddam Hussein, had all the weapons of mass destruction (WMD) he needed to use against the Iranian people during the Iran-Iraq War, because Wash DC has been hostile toward Iran ever since the Iranian people threw out the US-installed dictator of Iran (Shah Reza) in 1979, when US embassy personnel were taken as hostages, too.

Once more, Wash DC has now supplied the State of Israel with the special, long range F-18 fighter/bombers and bunker buster bombs for use this mission against Iran and it's people.

I'm so not shocked.

Re: Jewish Riviera on Baja California? (Score: 1)

Well, Virgil,

The newly, and democratically elected president of Iran had some interesting things to say recently, as cited below, which were immediately condemned as "outrageous" by Tel Aviv and Wash DC.

Of course, it's true that European Jews suffered very badly under the genocidal campaign of the democratically elected Nazi regime. But, the question is valid: Why should Palestinian people be dominated and their homes be destroyed by those same European immigrants?

Wouldn't it have been more reasonable and equitable for the Europeans to provide to space for a State to the European Jews that they persecuted?

Is it really fair that Palestinians are driven from their homes, and now the neighboring people of Iran should be bombed so that only the Israelis can feel assured on stolen land in a hostile environment?

I don't necessarily agree with Iran's president about anything. But, I have said something somewhat similar to his recent remarks on this very website, when I stated that I believed that a Jewish Homeland on land ethically purchased in 1948 (or even now, I suppose, since it's never too late to do what is right) in a place like Baja California, which would have been a true blessing to persecuted European Jews. That would have undoubtedly been a real blessing to the people of North and Central America, too.

Imagine a prosperous Jewish Riviera on Baja California.

But, no. The Palestinians were largely defenseless. The Zionist Movement had momentum already. And I'm sure some religious Jewish factions have always wanted a Third Temple where the Dome of the Rock Mosque stands, and has stood since 685 AD.

So, the Israeli State continues to be a curse to Jews and Muslims, alike, and now for far off Westerners too. And that's why most Jews around the globe are not ever going to seek citizenship as a hostile interloper on a strip of Middle Eastern sand.

Sometimes the worst punishment is when God allows people to get what they want.

Peace to you,
C. Livingstone

-----------------------------------------------------

Speaking to reporters at an Islamic summit in the Muslim holy city of Mecca, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad implied that European countries backed the founding of Israel in the Middle East in 1948 out of guilt over the Holocaust.

"Some European countries insist on saying that during World War II, Hitler burned millions of Jews and put them in concentration camps," Ahmadinejad said. "Any historian, commentator or scientist who doubts that is taken to prison or gets condemned."

"Let's give some land to the Zionists in Europe or in Germany or Austria, so they can have their government there," he said. "They faced injustice in Europe, so why do the repercussions fall on the Palestinians? Offer a piece of land from Europe, and we will back this decision and will not attack this government."

"Those who are occupying and ruling Jerusalem, what is the origin of their fathers? ... Most of them have no roots in Palestine, but they are holding the destiny of Palestine in their hands and allow themselves to kill the Palestinian people," he said.

Reason For March 2006 (Score: 1)
by EWMI on Monday, December 12 @ 15:13:23 PST
(User Info | Send a Message)
There are several theories around about the significance of March 2006 for this attack.

The Iranians plan to introduce an oil Bourse (or market) in March 2006 that will facilitate the oil trade in Euros rather than dollars. Saddam had planned the same. Gulf War 2 stopped that. The US economy would be severely threatened if oil trade on a global scale could be accomplished without it. A military strike against Iran could keep the dollar in charge.

The other possibility is that Purim falls in March. Gulf War One ended on Purim, the 48 hour warning was sent to Saddam on the eve of the two day feast 12 years later. Official bombing began at the end of Purim. Rabbinical authorities such as the late Rabbi Manachem Mendel Schneerson were careful to point out the significance of Purim were Iraq was concerned. It is understood that Iran does not hold the theological significance to Jews that Iraq does.

Further to this, Dispensationalists such as Joe Van Koevering, Perry Stone, Billy Brim and of course Hal have been baying for the blood of Syrians for years. Some of them are now also calling for the same against Iran. The real push for military action against Iran has been led, not by Christian religious futurists, but by Jewish religious futurists.

In my opinion Islamaphobe is right when he casts doubt about the influence of Christian fundamentalists in Middle East foreign policy issues. It might be fair to say that they really make up the “Amen Corner” for the Jewish religious futurists who do have the presidents’ ear.

It should not be forgotten that Reagan used Ezekiel’s prophecies in support of his bombing of Libya nor should Billy Graham and John Walvoord’s influence on George Bush senior in the 1991 campaign be ignored.

Is the President a Dispensationalist?

Some ask how the President could be waging a series of religious wars seeing he is not a Dispensationalist. There are some problems with that statement. First, there is an assumption by those who say this that the President makes decisions of himself. Second, that statement seems to ignore the huge influence Jewish lobby groups have in Washington. Jewish and Christian religious futurism share much common ground. Many Israeli sources pushed for the Iraq war. Several claimed success in swaying the government. It is difficult to determine how influential religious futurists are in directing AIPAC and its ilk. Finally the President may in fact be a dispensationalist. He claims that God specifically directed him to attack Afghanistan and Iraq.

It will probably never be known for sure if the Jewish Neocons’ motivation is Israel or American centered in pushing for conflict with Iraq, Syria and Iran and soon Saudi Arabia. To be sure war is a complex thing.

Will America Be Dragged In?

America is already there. The hardware Israel plans to use is American supplied.

We shall have to try to prevent things from coming to that, if at all possible. Our armed forces, however, are not the thirtieth strongest in the world, but rather the second or third. We have the capability to take the world down with us. And I can assure you that that will happen, before Israel goes under.

Who has over 200 nuclear bombs now? Not Iraq, not Iran. I would think that dispensationalist would be over joyed by a build up in these countries in order for their eschology to be fulfilled. Zionist Christians want no peace or justice in the area. Only a 'god' to save their sorry behind. The Zionist Christians have no real love for 'Israel' or the Arabs in the line of real brotherly love and convertion. Zionist Christians are selfish and self centering. These 'elect' have become the Pharases of the first century. It is so sad that the United States may be pushed into Another war that we have business in being in. This is a fantastic example of how eschatological frenzy is dangerous (per John Noe: "Bad eschatology can lead to bad wars.")

Before we load the tubes, let's do this:

- Give Israel 30 days to sign the international Non-Nuclear Proliferation Treaty

- Give Israel 30 days to explain why they won't allow UN inspectors in their country.

- Give Israel 30 days to conclusively prove to the US that the nasty Iraqi "WMD's" were relocated to Iran (their recent claim.)

- Give Israel 30 days to explain why there should not be a "Distinctly (name the race)ish State" for every people on earth, and how they whether they are prepared to see this ideal through.

- Give Israel 30 days to prove to the US that valuable, stolen western technology has not - and will not be - exploited in the quest for allies.

- Give Israel 30 days to prove that they are, indeed, the Israelites of old.

- Lastly, give them 30 days to prove that their Alyah is not tantamount to ethic cleansing, and a clear moral double-standard.

That'll keep them busy. In the mean time, let's pack up our boys and get them out of there. I honestly Jerusalem (and its deceit) will be a smoking crater soon.
