Let's apply this thinking to 911. Recently Professor Steven E. Jones of the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Brigham Young University produced a paper (linked at the end of this article) that supports the claim of a growing number of people both professional, military and amateur that the Twin Towers and Building Seven were destroyed by controlled demolition.

It was amazing to see airplanes fly into the twin towers on that day. It was also shocking to see a few small fires cause Building Seven to fall. Built above a substation it was one of the strongest steel buildings ever. The Building Seven mystery was "solved" when we heard the landlord admit that he gave the fire brigade permission to demolish it late on September 11. Well ... sort of solved.... If they did demolish it as Mr. Silverstein ordered, they were able to install explosives in the few hours between the collision of the last plane and 5 o'clock when it was demolished. This is a detailed and difficult job that can take days. Not to mention that this would be risky indeed with fires burning and all of the other dangers imposed by the mornings' events.

Adding to the overall amazement and wonder of the day were those amazing cell phone calls. (Small admission here, I have tried to call from an airplane, which is a radio shielded aluminum tube, to no avail. Have you?) Several researchers tried to make cell phone calls on the same flights. In fact one group hired a small plane to fly slower and lower than the jet in question with still no cell phone connection.

Many of us did not bother to be Berean about that day. As far as we were concerned a bunch of Muslim guys flew planes into the Twin Towers and the Pentagon. They were trained in Afghanistan. Osama was the mastermind. We knew who they were because, among other things, the passport of one of them was found in the dust of the World Trade Center. At least that is what the news said. (The passport was found among a million tons of rubble it might be noted. The Black Box flight recorders were pulverized but the passport made it!). Since there were no Arabs on the passenger or official autopsy lists of flight 77 this "Super Passport" has been an invaluable aid to ... someone....

Shame

Christian Bereans should have asked a bunch of questions. To their shame they did not. Thankfully there are now professionals and academics that will assist us in our journey. Steven E. Jones has published his paper for peer review. Sixty staff members from BYU and Utah State College including professors of Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Geology, Mathematics and Psychology agree with Prof. Jones conclusions.

Professor David Ray Griffin: The founder of the Center for a Postmodern World. He might be a liberal. This would not move a true Berean. After all the Apostle Paul was offering a much more Liberal cultus than the Bereans were living in. They still checked him out.

There are hundreds of thousands of pages of 911-conspiracy gobbledy gook out there. We are used to stuff like that. There are even more pages of eschatology related material most of us have examined. Of course that is the same for any topic of interest. The secret in "Bereanizing" any information is to look to the core facts and principles as much as possible. Here are some suggestions for anyone interested in digging deeper into the events of that day and the impact they have on us:

Payne Stuart's airplane suffers explosive decompression and two fighters arrive to escort it within thirty minutes. Fighters do not fill the skies after one, two, three or even four large passenger jets go off radar on 911.

Cell phone calls are just plain impossible to make from an airplane at altitude. These were not airplane installed satellite phones but standard cell phones we were told.

We have been asked to believe that only three steel buildings in the history of the world collapsed as a result of fire. They were the Twin Towers and Building Seven. We have the testimony of the owner of Building Seven but the official FEMA report claims fire, not explosives did it.

Why did the Secret Service men not usher the President away from the Florida classroom as he was reading "My Pet Goat" to the class? Wouldn't it be reasonable to assume that the Secret Service agent would have whispered: "Sir, a national crisis has arisen, we must leave now".

How did the wings of a 757 fail to mark the Pentagon? Why were there no windows broken where the wings would have hit?

If you were an inexperienced pilot wanting to crash into the Pentagon, why not fly straight down rather than circle and select the recently hardened yet barely occupied section?

Why did Rumsfeld choose to announce the missing 2.1 trillion dollars of unaccounted for US military hardware on the day before 911? Surely this would have been the biggest story of the year. What would have been made of the admission that, Dov Zacheim, the Pentagon comptroller can't account for $2T's!

Why did these terrorists who tomorrow were going to be in paradise, go to bars and strip clubs on some of their last nights on earth? Alcohol and adultery would be enough to keep them from Allah's presence. Wouldn't they be praying instead?

Conclusion

It's like this, dear readers. Many years ago Jesus' body was not found in the Garden Tomb where it had been laid. He had proclaimed His upcoming resurrection. The leaders of the day knew it. They covered up the truth. It was decided that the official story would be that Jesus' followers took His body. That was 2000 years ago and there are some who still believe it! It is not that you believe in conspiracies, it is which conspiracy you believe in.
