I wanted to be the first to say thanks to David Edwards for doing an awesome professional job with putting together the podcast! :)

Roderick: Virgil, I'm not finding you to be a trust-worthy person. There have been too many times I've had to bring out private things you have said so as to correct your public comments.

Oh I see, you're the one bringing out supposed "private things", yet have an issue with trust-worthiness? – go figure.

So Roderick, which side of your mouth should we believe – is Virgil a "universalist" or an "arminianist" seeing as you accuse him vociferously of being both – like which is it?

Just listened to the pod-cast and have to say that as for the "elect" as mentioned in the NT being the first-fruits of the AD70 full harvest I couldn't agree more.

Now if one holds to a more consistent and inclusive prêteristic understanding on this matter i.e., pantelism, then one can only conclude of a supposed post Parousia "elect" that if there is more elect AFTER Christ's Parousia then by a glaringly obvious implication there must likewise be more harvest. This is then none other than the futurist roundabout of – if there be a future [more] harvest, then Christ' Parousia cannot have been, thus redemption is STILL incomplete and so the Law STILL has sway and we are all STILL miserably lost in our sins – well no thanks!! I already left the follies of futurism and I ain't goin' back.

Some further food for thought:

The folly of "POST-Parousia" Calvinistic reasoning: how does an individual "reject" the gospel if Christ allegedly did not die for him? What is the supposed "good news" that he is rejecting? The Calvinist has "good news" for none but the elect ONLY. One can hardly reject what has not genuinely been offered. Thus if there is "no gospel" offered to the "non-elect," how then can the so called "non-elect" reject such a gospel?

For Whom Did Christ Die? (Score: 1)

FOR WHOM DID CHRIST DIE?

The Father imposed His wrath due unto, and the Son underwent punishment for, either:

1. All the sins of all men.
2. All the sins of some men, or
3. Some of the sins of all men.

In which case it may be said:

1. That if the last be true, all men had some sins to answer for, and so, none were saved.

2. That if the second be true, then Christ, in their stead suffered for all the sins of some in the whole world, and this is the truth.

3. But if the first be the case, why were not all men freed from the punishment due unto their sins?

You answer, "Because of unbelief."

I ask, Is this unbelief a sin, or is it not? If it be, then Christ suffered the punishment due unto it, or He did not. If He did, why must that hinder them more than their other sins for which He died? If He did not, He did not die for all their sins!"
