Exclusive: The starving of American brains continues...

by Virgil Vaduva Today, the United States Supreme Court refused to hear Terri Schiavo’s case and grant an emergency request to reinsert the feeding tube in order to save her life. This did not come as a surprise to most people, at least not to me. In fact, I am not sure why the Republicans thought that the out-of-control federal courts would act differently.
Folks, the problem for the liberals with the Terri Schiavo case is that it personifies the epic battle between life and death that the United States has been facing since the Roe vs. Wade decision. This really is about abortion, but on a greater scale. If we can legally kill unborn babies, why should we not be able to kill “vegetative” adults? The left has been misrepresenting the Terri Schiavo situation from the very beginning. The media continuously labeled her as being in a “permanent vegetative state” despite the fact that the woman can basically talk and mutter words, smile, follow objects with her eyes and head, and recognize friends and family. Never mind all that! Unborn babies can pretty much do all these things, and we can legally kill them, so why the big ruckus over a brain-damaged woman that is only a burden to society and ultimately a financial drain to her family? You see the similarities here? Both the unborn and Terri Schiavo are disposable, but that is not all.
You remember the stupid dolphins that swam up on the beach in Florida a month or so ago? Oh, mercy. All the liberals were in an uproar because either global warming, or navy sonar (pick whatever is convenient) caused them to swim up on the beach. You remember all the environmentalists protesting, taking ice chips and orange juice to the dolphins and literally forcing the dolphins to swim back to the sea? Did anyone think to ask what the dolphins wanted? Maybe the dolphins were just tired of swimming and wanted to go for a walk, evolve maybe! Or perhaps they wanted to die, just like Terri Schiavo. I mean if dolphins are truly as smart as humans, how can we take them back into the water by force anyways? And what about saving the beached whales, and the caribou in Alaska, or the baby seals? When did the courts ever take into account their feelings about living or dying?
This case really has little to do with religion, Christianity or law. It has everything to do with the government’s role to protect the most basic right of its citizens, the right to live and be alive. The government has betrayed Terri and has turned its back on her. And that is why we see the big picture of the liberal agenda almost fully developed. Without guns, citizens can do nothing when the government abuses them and chooses to kill them. Judges now both create the law and enforce it, and the people can do absolutely nothing about it. A combination of government education, anti-gun laws and rulings, and a sick obsession with glorifying death has created a majority of Americans who simply seem to lack the most basic level of intelligence required to make crucial decisions in life and even if they manage to make good decisions, they shrug their shoulders when unelected judges overturn them.
Do the liberals really want those who are brain dead to die? They should think twice about it because their constituency would be severely affected.

All of us there were so hopeful that the federal government would send in US Marshals to take Terri into protective custody in order to enforce their subpoena. Needless to say we were extremely baffled by this apparent refusal by the GOP to do the right thing. Jeb has fiddled while Rome burns. Sad.

And I can't believe the number of Christians who seem to think its ok. The woman is alive. Not artificially. It should be up to God as to how and when she dies. My heart is with her and her family. |

And that well expresses the way I feel today (though I would put an "an" before "ass" and "idiot"). The law, by which I particularly mean the courts, is out of control in this nation, and I fear that many people who vote Republican are conditioned to accept the idea that the judicial branch of government is somehow superior to either of the other branches and can safely be entrusted with the nation's well being.
Almost two decades ago, Robert Bork wrote The Tempting of America, a book in which he warned of the consequences of judicial rule. But the march into judicial tyranny has continued. It must be stopped, and it is essential that Congress exert its power under the U. S. Constitution to reign in the power of the courts. Rule by judges is not democracy. Neither is it the republic intended for us by the founding fathers.
The law schools of the country are predominantly liberal, and most of the people appointed to the bench in either state or federal courts have an activist bent. Liberals understand all too well that if they cannot control the presidency or the congress, then it is essential to reign in the coursts. The case of Terri Schiavo must be understood in the light of that political struggle.

Where's the bully pulpit? This is a very tragic situation. I hope it doesn't have to get worse before it gets better, but I suppose that hope is a bit naive. God have mercy on us.

What will happen is when she dies, she will be cremated so that an autopsy can not be done on her to give us any proof of her condition. It will be stated that "it is what she wanted." Even though she is Catholic. Everyone will go with it and the proof of the case will be eliminated, just like her life. |

I think that the solution is to amend the Constitution to allow Congress veto power over court decisions. This is truly power to the people, as congress represents the heart of America FAR, FAR beyond independant, lifetime appointed judges completely removed from accountability and the morality of the average American.

Fortunately the majority of Americans agree with me. Unfortunately a large bloc of conservatives are vehemently opposed to letting Terri's body die like it would have LONG AGO if this had happened to her 50 years ago. Look folks, her soul is long gone, why on earth are we keeping the body alive? For our own morbid curiosity? It's like the deformed person at the sideshow that we can't stop looking at!
I would also like to point out that she is, indeed, permanently vegetative. Multiple tests and YEARS of therapy have come to the same conclusion. C'mon people, her cerebral cortex has disintegrated into pudding! But don't take my word for it - I have links in my blog article below to the report produced by the Guardian Ad Litem who reviewed thousands of pages of documents and spent hundreds of hours by Terri's bedside looking for just one sign of non-vegetative response. He never found it.
Rest In Peace, Terri Schiavo
