"We do not have to sift through Paul's thorn, Job's boils, or Timothy's sick stomach to try to understand the perfect will of God. You must realize Paul's infirmity was not in his flesh; it was his soulish man - his mind, his will, and emotions. We know this because he told us the thorn was a messenger of Satan sent to buffet him....It is time preachers stop trying to make excuses for their lack of faith and understanding of the Word of God." -- Rod Parsley |

R.C. Sproul, Jr has a large list. James Jordan is a friend of his, but at our conference, apologized for calling us "heretics." The tapes of the conference debate between Jordan and Preston are most enlightening, since Sproul's position is fairly much the same! See www.christcovenantchurch.com for ordering.

by Erick on Tuesday, November 09 @ 13:54:03 PST (User Info | Send a Message) | I admit that his article made me a bit angry (as it should I suppose), but my friends we shouldn’t write him off as he has us, but gently instruct him and his peers in hope that they will someday turn from their idolatrous love of creeds and human tradition and turn back to the Word of God. I wrote an e-mail to Mr. Sproul Jr. and prayed for him, maybe we all could do the same before we blast him in the safety of our own homes behind the veil of user names. He and his friends are causing much damage to the reformed and reforming community and must be dealt with, but as brethren, not enemies, and if as enemies then as Christ taught us to treat our enemies... love them. It is a shame that the son has not learned to exercise the mature restraint of the father, perhaps he is trying to outdo the father to win his love and/or the acceptance of his peers. It is all very sad really, and we need to be there to help restore him when he comes around.
Father in Heaven, they regard us as heretics, as outsiders, as “damned” to hell, but we know that Your Son Jesus Christ is our Advocate and precious Savior. We ask for Your help in restoring our brethren, but ultimately they are Your sheep to be found. Please work your grace in their lives that we might have sweet fellowship with them once again. And as Your word teaches, there is strength in numbers (Eccl. 4: 9-12), so permit us someday to join together with them to bring glory to Your name in this world, and ultimately the next. In Christ’s name we pray. |
