Dispensationalism: Dispensational "American Prophecies" tops charts
Posted on Tuesday, August 10 @ 18:51:18 PDT by Virgil

Books A new dispensational novel by Mike Evans titled "American Prophecies: Ancient Scriptures Reveal Our Nation's Future" is now number one in Barnes & Noble sales ranking and number seven on Amazon.com. Ironically the author asks: "...will we align ourselves so closely with Israel in the final conflict that we are literally indistinguishable from her in the final chapter of Bible prophecy?"

From the Publisher:

"Our position in the last days will be determined by our choice of allegiance: Will the growing liberal tendencies of our nation pull us to join the E.U., U.N., and Russia in a globalization move that will, in the end, force a false peace on Israel and begin the Tribulation? Or will we with our moral clarity, large Jewish populace, and Christian consciousness align ourselves so closely with Israel in the final conflict that we are literally indistinguishable from her in the final chapter of Bible prophecy?"

"If you abandon Israel, God will never forgive you."

These words, spoken by his pastor to a future president of the United States, set the tone for author Michael D. Evans's impassioned and wide-ranging exploration of current events in the light of ancient scriptures and America's place in biblical prophecy.

From the time George Washington placed his hand upon a Bible and swore the oath to become the first president of the United States, the Jews-and more important, a Jewish homeland-have occupied a crucial place in America's history. The second president of the United States, John Adams, declared toward the end of his life, "For I really wish the Jews again in Judea an independent nation." Now internationally renowned Middle East expert and biblical scholar Mike Evans traces the efforts of American Christians to help establish a Jewish State through a "prophetic memorial," a declaration presented to five successive American presidents outlining the biblical mandate for a Jewish homeland. Evans describes in fascinating detail the events that led in 1948 to the birth of the nation of Israel.

The hatred of the Arab world for the West-and toward America in particular-can be traced entirely to this nation's identification with Israel. America flirts with danger, Evans says, when it accommodates the Arab world merely for the sake of oil. As God said to Abraham, "I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse." America's prophetic future hangs on the nation's moral vision and clarity.

The hostility of Islamic fundamentalists toward America can be explained succinctly, Evans asserts: It is rooted in bigotry, the ancient prejudice against Jews. Yet, says Evans, "America is cursing what God has blessed (Israel) and blessing what God has cursed (rebuilding Babylon [Iraq]). Does the Bible reveal what will happen to a nation that does this? A thousand percent yes!"

I don’t know what all this guy says in his book, but it just seems to me that common sense would tell us that God is doing something over there with Israel in the Middle East. What is it…just a big coincidence?

Why is it that, if God judged the Jews so finally and so completely in 70 A.D., they did not simply go extinct as a race. After their scattering for 2000 years one would think there would be total assimilation among the nations so as to render them unidentifiable (I know some do claim this but the Jews seem to have no trouble identifying themselves).

At any rate, the Bible is the source of truth as for the definitive explanation of these things. I would only say that what’s happening in the Middle East today is at least “extra-biblical” evidence in favor of dispensational futurism.

If you look at the evidence, there is not a stone left standing on another from the Temple (the continued desolation) and the temple mount continues to be 'trampled upon.' And there is not a single biblical prophesy of the temple being rebuilt. So there's no reason to entertain a repeat. In other words, dispensationalism is a big fat error.
