On the inside of you, you will sense something prompting you to say words and syllables. Just open your mouth and let the words flow. I do not care if it is 'la, la, la,' or 'da, da, da.' The devil hates it all." -- Rod Parsley |

Will Our Pets Be In Heaven?

Rexella: He also created, Jack, in the beginning, animals for companionship. In fact, they were created actually before Eve was created to be companion to Adam. Now we have a little kitty cat. Her name is Fenica. She is 17 years old now. Tom Parasiliti and Lorna Parasiliti our director and assistant director have a dog, a beautiful dog. Will our animals be in heaven, Jack? Will Fenica be there?
Dr. Van Impe: Very definitely. During the Millennial reign, Isaiah 11:6-8 that kingdom of God is just saturated with animal life of every type and description. But a man wrote to me about his pets and having his pets with him in heaven and what would happen to them at the rapture, and it was confidential so I’ll just say, "Dear Brother." It seemed like the Spirit of God just showed me this at the time, and here is what I said to him. "I believe that everything on earth is a picture or pattern of things in heaven. Thus, during the Millennial reign of Christ, the earth is filled with tame and beautiful animals of all descriptions, Isaiah 11:6. Furthermore, since earth is a pattern of heaven, then the third heaven of II Corinthians 12: 2-3 must also be filled with these bundles of love.
I don’t believe that the return of Christ on the white horse in Revelation 19:11 is merely rhetoric. He comes on this animal because there are beasts in heaven. The Bible does not specifically state anything concerning animals being taken at the rapture, however, since God promises that he will not withhold any good thing from those who love him, I believe that a simple request to the Saviour will make our desire for our pets occur instantaneously. He is God. He can do anything. For instance, there are those whose beloved pets went the way of all flesh and died. However, God is able to bring them back from dust and ashes as simply as he does the humans, when the dead in Christ rise. To sum up everything I’ve said, I believe that we will have the animals we loved with us in heaven, not because of the rapture, but because our requests produce God’s recreation, reassembling of these little furry bundles of love."

Seriously, what's Jack smoking? Whatever it is, I can't wait to get to heaven so I can smoke the real thing and not the "pattern" Jack's smoking.
Regarding Jesus returning to earth on a white horse: That description should really bother the woodenly-literal futurist. I don't remember Jesus leaving earth on a white horse, do you? Didn't the angels tell the disciples that Jesus would return in the same manner in which he left? Hmmmmmmmmm ...

To be serious for a moment, "Consistent Literalism" is not very consistent.

I think he really does have a gift of speaking to people, but his methods of interpretation are... pathetic... to say the least. I would simply like to say, and this applies to everyone, including myself: be careful what you say about this man. He is a Christian, and that is what really counts. His problem is he uses misguided scare tactics to reach people, and that will be set straight someday. But we should still give him respect, no matter what.

It would follow that, nothing being lost in Him, and all good abiding in Him, that every lost or living pet is, in some small way, a manifestation of His abounding Love. Also, I agree that we are obligated to love Brother Van Impe, no matter how absurd his beliefs. Remember that his very livelihood is wrapped up in his ministry. What do we expect him to do, recant? I heard him say recently that the pets of believing people will be RAPTURED with them. Perhaps the mental imagery, of yipping terriers and yodeling beagles being violently sucked skyward, while the hounds of unbelieving neighbors howl mounfully at being "left behind", will do more to refute dispensationalism than many preterist debates.
