"For the first time ever, everything is in place for the battle of Armageddon and the Second Coming of Christ. It can’t be too long now. Ezekiel says that fire and brimstone will be rained upon the enemies of God’s people. That must mean that they will be destroyed by nuclear weapons.” -- Ronald Reagan |

News: They Pry Them from Our Cold Dead Fingers

...We built huge buildings in every community and hired firearm experts to work there. We passed a new law requiring everyone to drop off their guns at the building closest to them every morning, and then pick them up in the early evening. Some complained this was inconvenient for them, so we created a system to pick the guns up at each home every morning and return them to the owners in the evenings.
Once upon a time, in a land not so far away…
It’s a lively community forum. A nice young woman named Jan Smith from Freeland (a tiny country tucked away somewhere in Western Europe) is telling us about how Freeland has solved many of the problems our local politicians have been struggling with. Some think our city council members could learn from Freeland’s example.
"One of the problems we’ve dealt with quite successfully is the gun issue," Ms. Smith says. "Now remember, we’re a free country like yours – we believe in individual liberty and responsibility. We certainly allow citizens to own and use firearms.
"However, we noticed that this creates several problems. Many people just don’t take proper care of their guns. They don’t know how to clean them, how to store them, how to make sure they are safe. Other people modify their guns in ways that are illegal or not in the best interests of the public. This poses a danger not only to themselves, but to the community.
"Some of our cleverest leaders solved that. First, we passed a law requiring that everyone care for their guns and store them properly. We instituted a massive educational campaign to stress the importance of this.
"That helped, but of course there were still people who didn’t comply.
"The way we ultimately solved the problem was for the government to provide citizens with the service of taking care of their guns for them.
"We built huge buildings in every community and hired firearm experts to work there. We passed a new law requiring everyone to drop off their guns at the building closest to them every morning, and then pick them up in the early evening. Some complained this was inconvenient for them, so we created a system to pick the guns up at each home every morning and return them to the owners in the evenings.
"Having the guns all day gives our government-trained firearms experts a chance to modify those that don’t comply with gun regulations, in addition to making sure they are cleaned and stored safely.
"It’s a win-win. Folks really appreciate this service!
"A great side effect that we didn’t anticipate was that it gives more freedom to everyone! No longer do citizens worry about what might happen to their guns if they left them at home during the day, so they can go to work or run their errands in peace.
"They know their guns are safe and well-cared-for. And of course they appreciate not having to do the hard work of taking care of their guns themselves."
Councilman Brown interrupts with a question: "Have you encountered any problems with this system?"
"Not really." Ms. Smith pauses. "Well, some people complain that the government experts don’t do a good job. Some say that their guns don’t work as well as they used to, or that they prefer to take care of them themselves, for whatever reasons.
"No problem. To appease these complainers, we allow them to take their guns to private, licensed companies that provide the same service. Of course, not many people take advantage of these private services, because after all they have to PAY for them, whereas the tax-funded government service is free.
Councilman Jones: "Sounds great! This is something I think we should consider here."
I look around at the mostly conservative and libertarian crowd – who, predictably go ballistic.
"You’ve got to be kidding!" says a man on the front row. "You’ll never see that here!" says another.
"You’ll take my guns when you pry them from my cold dead fingers!" shouts a man in the back row, and soon the crowd is on its feet – echoing his statement and booing the politicians.
Whew! It’s clear we won’t see this sort of thing in my community any time soon.
As I nod in agreement with the crowd, I notice an image out of the corner of my eye – a bright yellow school bus is passing by the window.
And suddenly I realize that just about everyone in the room allows government workers to come every day and take away something – something far more precious than any piece of metal.
That big yellow school bus takes our children to huge government buildings where most of their waking hours are spent. Where each day begins with an invocation of loyalty to the state. Where their most treasured spiritual values and symbols are banished. Where peer pressure replaces family values. Where the truly important questions of life can’t be asked, much less answered. Where pop culture surpasses the classics. Where socialism is taught – both in theory and by example. Where conformity and indoctrination are far more important than thinking or reading…
Libertarians and most conservatives boldly and nobly take a stand for our right to keep and bear arms. Not so we can go duck hunting, but so we can defend ourselves and our families from invasion. And so we can, if necessary, defend our liberty from the possibility of a tyrannical state.
But what if the tyranny we fear comes to pass – grown and nurtured in our very homes?
Until we have equal passion for defending our children from the invasion of their MINDS – unless we take a bold and noble stand for the separation of SCHOOL and state – we will continue to allow our children to be taken from our warm, loving arms.

by Ed on Monday, February 16 @ 12:23:38 PST (User Info | Send a Message) | I can echo my frustration as a conservative home-schooling father, when I hear fellow conservatives gripe and moan about all the spending by our state (Michigan) on things like Medicaid for elderly, or the young. Yet, these same conservatives send their children to public schools and then on to state funded universities.
The funny thing is: in the state of Michigan, the entitlements of medicaid, welfare, child protection, etc. make up about 12% of the economy. Public Education? 51%.
Between the PE system bleeding people's monetary wealth dry, they are also sucking the familial wealth (children's love of parents, country, the sacred, etc.) dry as well. If all Christians would take their children out of the school, the system would collapse, and taxes in our state could decrease by half, and not upset one single social program.
I think conservatives should reconsider which programs they attack. Go after the big ones. The others might take care of themselves (if half of our wealth wasn't being taken away, there would be more money for those who usually use those social programs to fund their own social issues). |

Compulsory State Education Centers are not only bad for the minds of young souls, they hold hostage each and every home of those people who may choose not to utilized "Public Schools." Their foundation is one of extortion and violence.
Those who choose to avoid State indoctrination for their children, and who also refuse to pay the extortion money, wil be ultimately dragged from their homes at gunpoint and placed in a jail cell. Their home will be auctioned-off, and the State/County will keep all of the proceeds. This has been my firsthand experience on the West Coast of North America.
So, we all know that private property is no longer available in North America. The American Dream of true home ownership died a long time ago. And, that people here are prevented from being secure in their property and their effects, unless they pay the extortion money to the State, regardless of whether or not they utilize State schooling, which is funded via "Property Taxes"
And what of all of those adored Public School teachers. They are receiving the stolen property (in the form of pay extorted via property tax) for their services that people have no choice about. Wouldn't it be nice if people actually wanted and asked for their teaching skills because they were really perceived as valuable, and could be paid for on a fee-for-service basis, like a private school, if desired?
Public School Teachers are not only a bad value, compared to so-called Private School teachers, they are parasites who are engaged in a criminal activity. And who spread lies about how gloriously the State carries out its Manifest Destiny and the White Man's Burden of creating genocidal campaigns to bring enlightenment to the "inferior races." All of this under the auspice of "Divine Providence."
Of course, the state-incorporated, 501 (c) 3 "churches" and "clergy" are not going to talk like that. They sold-out a long time ago, for limited-liability protections and a few tax-exemptions for themselves. Besides, they could get in trouble by violating their contract and license, which prevents them from speaking against the laws or public policies of their master, the State.
Sure, the Separation of School and State is a no-brainer, like the Separation of the Body of Christ from the Body of State. But Caesar's subjects seem to tolerate the daily dumping of their children into those State Institutions fairly well.
Maybe one day a good number of people will Separate themselves from the Body of the State and come into the Body of Christ, where it's against the Law to use coercion, extortion, and violence to accomplish a goal. Then the planet certainly would be a less-hostile place for everyone. Wouldn't that be nice?
Peace to you,

We can certainly cooperate with others privately to provide education for our children which we control, but it is not a legitimate function of government.
The larger issue is the need to return to constitutional (lawful) government. When we do, government will again be about securing life, liberty and property, and everything else will be returned to the private sector.
When that happens, we will have our funds to address the social issues as we see fit. We don't need government as a middleman who keeps 70% of what he takes for providing his service and then adds two dollars in mandates for every stolen dollar returned to us.
It is time to stop the scam, but most folks are on the take in one way or another these days and don't want to lose their slice of the pie. Until we get rid of our ability to use tax dollars for special interests, the public purse will continue to be used by politicians to buy the votes of those who never realize how they are being duped.
The major parties now believe government is sovereign. Most alternate parties belive man is sovereign. Only one believes that God is sovereign, I would suggest we work with it to restore the liberty which has been lost.

It's encouraging to see Preterists thinking straight when it comes to the pagan political scene. This does not always happen automatically.
The only thing I would add is that it is not enough to simply pull children out of government schools and keep firearms at home. These are necessary first steps, but they are only that. We must be working positively on placing self-consciously Christian alternatives to the modern welfare state. And the only way that can be done is through serious Christian community living. Churches need to lead the way and secede their congregations from the state owned church 501(c)(3). There is only one Lord of the church and that is Jesus Christ, not the IRS or US Govt. Many protestant reformers died for that principle, and we as their children sell that birthright and godly heritage for a mess of tax exemptions. Shame on us.
Once Churches put the kingship of Jesus Christ into practice (for who you obey is who is Lord over you), then the congregations can begin to develop under that kingship and rule of Christ. Perhaps they could work on supporting those members who not only remove their children from the government schools, but also remove their children from the government social security program. It is possible for the church to function as a society for entrepreneurship and apprenticeship teaching the young to live honestly in their communities by hard work rather than handouts and government subsidies.
Maybe we could get back to the biblical call to take care of widows and orphans which is pure religion, rather than the government practice of coercion for welfare redistribution - which is pure Statist Religion. What can be a better witness to a watching world than when the Gospel of Jesus Christ is truly lived out. Believe me, people will notice.
There is much work to be done as this society collapses. It never ceases to amaze me how so many churches in our country plod on in the same shallow, boring routine of meeting and retreating with virtually no difference between them and all the pagans around them when it comes to "American Life." If there is no substantive difference, why do we wonder that biblical Christianity is ignored in this country? I don't blame our society. Common Christianity IS worthless in our country. I gurantee you if your congregation goes about these issues substantively, your congregation will grow together as they find themselves in God's Kingdom laboring under the kingship of Christ. I assure you all the common boredom of "Church" will disappear as the excitement of living daily in God's presence and family is experienced within the details of life. And it will be a powerful witness to those who see Christian community practiced in life.
It's time to go on the offensive and live what we say we believe. Exiting the government schools is a good first step. It leads to many more logical steps by those who are serious and logically consistent. Besides, this system is collapsing. Who really believes these welfare programs will exist or be attractive for the perpetual future? If you do then you are naive.
Those who leave now merely get the early-bird discount. They learn the skills and receive the blessings before the complete system collapse forces everyone into awkward and unfamiliar territory. There comes a point in time where governments lose moral authority. A time where participation needs to be revoked. Nazi Germany was one such system. Godly Christians seceded from that system - the Bonhoeffers of Nazi Germany were the kooks of their day, yet we remember them as great Christian heros. Roman civilization was another exampe where moral authority was gone, and the Christians seceded and formed their own communities. Sometimes the price for living in the freedom of Christ was high in this world, yet the Christians knew it was worth it for the blessing of the eternal life they experienced.
Pagan, decadent American civilization, I believe, h

Seriously, excellent article. I agree wholeheartedly, and thanks for writing such a clever article.
My question is why do many conservative Christians keep voting for the GOP? They espouse this stuff just as badly as the Dems do! Look at "No Child Left Behind" act by good ol' Dubya. (Maybe he had some influence from Tim LaHaye on the title!)
If we preterists are serious about co-reigning with Christ in His kingdom, then we need to stop voting for the GOP liberals and start voting for Godly candidates such as those from the Constitution Party.

(Oops: did I just cross that forbidden line of "separation of church and state" again?)
While we may not be victorious in our generation (that is, about 40 years--not 2000+,) maybe we can help set the stage for a rebounding of godly principles in our society for our decendants. Patrick Henry College has a great and mighty vision to accomplish exactly this, unfortunately their statement of faith prevents me from sending my homeschooled children there, as they are sadly futurist.

Some of the comments here show that a skunk can be smelled in the world’s government, and that Jesus Christ has an alternative government already established for the Christian - a government that has long been forgotten but is now being noticed again. Both you and Seeker have concerns about all government being abolished and perhaps subsequent , but this is not advocated by the Holy Bible - the constitution of Jesus Christ.
He promised to shake all things in earth and heaven “so that what cannot be shaken [His kingdom] may remain.” HE 12:25-29. This shaking started around A.D. 67 and all earthly kingdoms are continuously being traumatized so that eventually Jesus Christ will be honored as “Ruler” by every knee. The USA will not survive this shaking, nor will any worldly empire, but Christians have the opportunity to “teach the nations” to submit to Jesus Christ and His social government, MT 28:20.
Seeker is right. Man cannot live without control, and God does not support disorder, 1 COR 14:33. The kingdom of God imparts 3 forms of government or control for His citizens on earth. Self control, GA 5:23; family control, TI 1:6; and social/civil control, 1 TI 3:5.
Jesus Christ said He would build His “ecclesia”, see the Greek in MT 16:18.
In A.D. 30 the word “ecclesia” was strictly used to denote a form of civil government in Greek cities. It was not a religious institution.
If Christ wanted to signify that He was building a “religious” establishment He could have used thiasos, eranos, koinon, synodos, or even kuriakos (church), in spite of this He used a well known political/civil term - ecclesia - to explain His organization. The Almighty has a government already waiting for His people, if they want it.
Sincerely,
David F. |
