Funny Stuff
Assuming that there was liquid water on Mars on the Fifth Day of Creation [the planets were created on the Fourth Day], then it stands to reason that the "waters" on Mars obeyed God's command, and "brought forth life".

Prophecy: Super Bowl Prophecy
Posted on Saturday, January 31 @ 07:40:00 PST by John

Amusing XSBC submitted: "Don Preston recommended I send this to you guys: I thought it would be fun to find how this year's Super Bowl game is prophesied in the Scriptures. Here's the fruit of my studies from Daniel 7:6 along with the explanation of the prophecy:

"After this I kept looking" -- (this is referring to the 69 weeks of pre-game shows that will be crammed into Sunday morning. There is a gap between the 69th and 70th week which will be the half-time show. If the half-time performance is by Jessica Simpson, it will seem like 2000 years. Then the end -- the second half -- will come.),

"...and behold, another one...," (the context goes back to v. 4 about the beast that "...had the wings of an eagle. I kept looking until its wings were plucked...;" the Carolina Panthers beat the Philadelphia Eagles in the playoffs),

"...like a leopard..." (the Panthers),

"...which had on its back four wings of a bird..." (their backfield/receivers);

"...the beast also had four heads..." (their defensive line),

"...and dominion was given to it..." (Panthers win the Super Bowl).

In responding to this, consider two things:

1) It makes as much sense and is as plausible in its hermeneutics as anything Jack Van Impe, Hal Lindsey, Grant Jeffrey or Tim LaHaye has ever come out with.

2) If the Panthers lose, my success in prophesying will still be as good as theirs.

God bless!

Timothy King"

I don't know who you are, Timothy King, but I suspect that you are really a pseudonym for Jack Van Impe.

Great job! :)

Definitely got a chuckle out of me, Tim! Thanks for that! I agree - this kind of interpretive shenanigans is characteristic of the Dispy futurists who have consistently embarrassed themselves and brought shame to Christendom as a whole by their posturing and baseless prognosticating ad nauseam.

And if the Panthers beat the Patriots - it will SEEM like the Great Tribulation has come for Patriot fans, I'm sure. But it will seem like a "New Heavens and Earth" for Panther fans - so it'll be a little something spectacular and sensational for everyone! Just as appealing as anything the pop-prophecy pundits you listed have come out with - in fact, more so!

Panthers lost!

Well...back to the old prophetic drawing board.

But that's okay!

Re: My failed Super Bowl prophecy

So what if the Panthers lost?

You have a short memory and you’re less concerned with prophetic, biblical integrity than you are with interpretations that are glitzy and reflective of today’s headlines. I’m still as accurate as the other prophecy gods out there you’ve molded that keep predicting the Rapture as next year, next year, next year. . . I think I’ll write a book. I’ll prophesy who’ll win the Super Bowl next year, and the next . . . And you’ll keep buying my drivel off the shelves because you don’t get it. Your penchant toward personality-cult and gullibility will keep me rolling in the moolah for years to come!

Bwaaaa ha ha ha ha ha haaaaaah!

(Is this too cynical?)
