John Noē is four weeks into a new, 13-week teaching series at Madison Park Church of God—the headquarters church of the Church of God of Anderson denomination in Anderson, IN—on Thursdays from 6:15-7:45 PM. It's titled . . .

Unraveling the End

A Biblical Synthesis of Competing Views

—Unifying ‘One of the Most Divisive Elements in Recent Christian History’—

To listen in and view, go to: www.madisonparkchurch.org

Under "Podcasts & Media" in the column on the right side.

Click on "More Media & Resources."

Third panel down is "Unraveling the End."

Click on "View More."

SOME major topics to be addressed include:
  • 7 reasons why your end-time view (or non-view) is vital
  • The great “end-time” fiasco vs. timely, divine perfection
  • The “last days” that were and the end that was
  • The “end of the world”? Is such a Biblical teaching?
  • The Second Coming/Return of Jesus Christ?
  • The many comings of Jesus—past, present, and future
  • Jesus’ most dramatic prophecy—ignored by the Church?
  • Intensification of “nearness language” re: the time of the end
  • The Rapture: Biblical fact or man-made fiction?
  • The contemporary Christ: Who He really is today!
  • The fulfillment and ongoing relevance of the book of Revelation
  • The proper identification of the New Heaven and New Earth
  • The solution of synthesis (putting it all together, anew!)

    John,

Is the COG of Anderson In. different than the COG of Cleveland Tenn.? If not, which one denies the eternal security of once saved always saved for the believer, and do you address this doctrine in your series?

    Tom,

    Yes, they are different.

Re: "Eternal security--i.e., once saved always saved," I'm not convinced of it. And I have studied out the scriptures used on both sides of this issue. And, no, this is not part of this series. And, yes, I'm not interested in spending the time and effort to debate this here on PP.

    John,

I would have to assume that soteriology is not an integral eschatological issue if you are not covering it in your series.

I was just curious which side of the issue this church was on. Also I thought I heard a reference in your first lesson about a seminar you spoke at in Tenn., would that have been to the other COG in Cleveland?

Also, if I traveled to Anderson, which is not that far from my family home in Cincinnati, would I be allowed as a good Berean to ask that eschatological question?

    Tom,

You would be assuming wrongly here. I have covered some of it already in the first lesson as the #2 reason your eschatological view is so vital. But there is more to soteriology than the eternal security issue.

And, no, I have never spoken at COG in Cleveland, TN. I don't no where you got that idea.

Re: your coming to Anderson. May I suggest you first listen to the lessons already posted on the church's website and email me with any questions. Given the volatile potential and emotionality sometimes associated with this topic and these events, the church is being guarded and careful. They want to avoid any disturbance. And I do to. Therefore, they have structured the questions and answers to be after each presentation, to me privately, and only ones pertinent to that evening's topic. If you come, you'd need to honor that. Later on in the series, I expect this will be eased up a bit.

    Thanks John,

I do not plan to come to Anderson at this time. However, I do not disrupt any meeting that I do attend. I think proof of that would be that I have attended the last 3 Truth Voice conferences and there are major persons at PP who were not even aware that I was there. Including VV, whom I have had to since refresh his memory about our personal conversations at the last TV, for him to identify who I am.
