The Millennium of the King family
The real devil of the problem here has to do with this idea that Gentry, DeMar, and Partial Preterism have. They cannot answer the Hyper-Preterist problem with a Preterist answer. This tells them that their system has failed over, and over, and over again ad nauseum. But instead of trying to understand why this is the case as they are loading Christians on their one way train to Hell, the will go to the dinning car instead and order lobster, with some wine perhaps and maybe cake as usual. They do not answer. May God have mercy on their sorry souls.
Attempting to make the Bible conform to dispensations is the fatal flaw. But from Adam to Paul there was only one way of salvation, and that was in Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God, to trust in God’s provision and His atonement and not your own works. There are no dispensations in the Bible in this regard, it is the same thing repeated over and over and over again to man. Ask God to forgive you, and believe Him. And to whom is it addressed? It is addressed to sinners, to mankind. So if you are a sinner the Bible is written to you, not someone else in some other dispensation. There are no dispensations for this. Although the temple was destroyed in AD 70 these kinds of people and those kinds of problems are still in humanity today. Preterists such as Gary DeMar who shares the same pulpit with Gentry on occasion will argue that AD 70 marked the beginning of the NT age. What does Peter mean by the passing away of Heaven and Earth by Gary DeMar “Once the old had been swept away, St. Peter declared, the Age of Christ would be fully established, an era “in which righteousness dwells” (2 Pet. 3:13). The distinguishing characteristic of the new era, in stark contrast to what preceded it, would be righteousness—increasing righteousness, as the Gospel would be set free in its mission to the nations. There have been many battles throughout Church history, of course, and many battles lie ahead. But these must not blind us to the very real progress that the Gospel has made and continues to make in the world. The New World Order of the Lord Jesus Christ has arrived; and, according to God’s promise, the saving knowledge of Him will fill the earth, as the waters cover the sea (Isa. 11:9). Chapter 11 in the 3rd edition of "Last Days Madness by Gary DeMar “The destruction of the temple, and with it the priesthood and sacrificial system, inaugurated a new era in which "the blood of Christ" cleanses our "conscience from dead works to serve the living God" (Hebrews 9:14). Therefore, the expression "end of the age" refers "to the end of the 'Jewish age,' i.e., the time of transference from a national to an international people of God,"(1) what the Apostle Paul describes as the "ends of the ages." The "end" had come upon the first-century church (1 Corinthians 10:11). A similar phrase is used by the author of Hebrews: "But now once at the consummation of the ages He has been manifested to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself" (Hebrews 9:26).“
This verse in Hebrews 9 has to do with where Christ has finished His atonement when He came a second time without sin. It has to do with when you do not sin any more, i.e. the resurrection. A resurrection not about meat. A resurrection that has to do with something else. Gentry and DeMar sold the farm when they jumped on the Partial-Preterist bandwagon. They did not lose some of that typology with the AD 70 temple [that needs to be reapplied to us today], they threw out the entire NT and Jesus Christ! Let them argue from Preterism rather from the creeds or soteriology to prove otherwise, they cannot.
The bottom line is that the Bible is written to be taken idealistically, if you realize you are a sinner and need a Saviour read it like it is written to you. What passed away in AD 70 was all those apostates and those who were anti-christ in a historical parable. It was symbolic of the burning up of the elements of this world when we die to then enter into the Most Holy place. All things were finished in Jesus Christ when He lived a holy life, died, and did rise again from the dead on the third day. AD 70, history, did not establish anything. Anything that was accomplished after Christ came had to do with the Church defining the method for conforming to Jesus Christ absolutely, the same method that we must all follow today if we want to be Christians. However Christ is the Lamb slain from the foundation from the world, because God who cannot lie promised redemption.
Before I talk about the ideas that the Kings have come up with, let me start off by saying that I do not think that it is possible for me to accurately define what the Kings believe. This is something that only the King’s can only do. The religion of the Kings is their idea, which is not my idea, which naturally therefore I am not going to explain the same way. What I am trying to do here is give my understanding of what I think they are saying in light of what I believe, and or what could be the logical conclusions of Hyper-Preterism.
They have reasoned that Jesus Christ was not God, and only symbolic for what the church would become. Spiral Dynamics and The Biblical Overview Part II 2012 Doug King ” Should we expect that the nature of the church, or that which has been labeled Christianity, should be any different than the nature of Jesus Christ.” This means that the church is same thing as Jesus Christ right now. Jesus is no longer the Way for the Church because the Church has already arrived.
They have also determined that in the New Heavens and Earth that they speak of, that there are many paths to God found in many different religions. Spiral Dynamics Overview Part III 2011 " This by far is going to be the most controversial of what Presence is offering to the different groups today which are studying the Biblical narrative. That is because there is a very very few people who are looking at the Biblical narrative, not only from the standpoint or a fulfilled narrative that points to an All And All God but are willing to consider is it possible that Jesus never came to displace one religion and bring another? … We are living in an amazing time, because we are living in a place where an evolutionary leap is about to happen and that leap is going to take us beyond Christianity and … [into] … our integral spiritual conciseness. … even Jesus Christ pointed away from Himself, He was not coming to establish more of Himself but rather to point all people to the Father, to the Father as one. … is it possible that we could ever imagine a world beyond Christianity … Imagine no religion … we are not talking about leaving the teachings of Jesus." Spiral Dynamics and the Biblical Narrative Overview ”… Church and Christianity were never to be the end result of the teachings of Jesus Christ regarding the coming of the kingdom of God … In fact all of this will leaven its way out into the global family of humanity. … Human conciseness and spiritual conciseness is to grow infinity and that it is not about some terminal place in time, when everything quote comes to an end.”
Tim King says he is not a universalist, however if all religions lead to God, and all religions outside of Christianity have to do with man seeking to work his way to heaven by what he does and does not do on earth, then anyone could argue they are seeking God when they do things their way. Adam was doing his own thing when he started his own religion and made himself God.
The Kings say that the Gospel has to do with a world identity and understanding. Max King The Gospel Of God – Introduction 2012 “The Gospel of God is a Genesis through Revelation story of an 'all in all' God growing his children (all humanity) through ongoing revelation (understanding) of their true identity which is the very image of God.” Dug King Presence Feb 2012 “And the beauty of the Gospel of God is that it is a Gospel that is inclusive of the Hebrew writers the work and teachings of Jesus and all the Apostolic writers, so that what is developed is a Gospel that is one seamless Gospel, it is one and only one Gospel, it is one story and that story is about my identity and your identity. And it is the story and good news of God about how we are in His image. It is not the story of how God moves humanity from one religion i.e. Judaism to another religion i.e. Christianity. Rather it is the good news that we are actually free from religion. In fact that we are free from any boundary driven thinking that limits our identity as we serve a God who has no limits no limitations, the immeasurable.” This is heretical to the “Blue Spiral”, which is where I am at according to Spiral Dynamics and the thinking of Trans-Psychology.
Transpersonal Psychology has something to do with living in the now divorced from the you.
Spiral Dynamics has to do with age to age and endless possibilities for new age thinking.
Rather the true Gospel has to do with trusting Jesus Christ, the God-Man, with your eternal destiny, that He can take away your sin in the living presence of God in the Resurrection as well as intercede for you in this life as you wait for His Second coming. That He can save you from your sins by His righteousness and by His atonement in AD 33.
Because Hyper-Preterism says that AD 70 marked the beginning of the NT age, and that Jesus Christ finished His atoning work in AD 70, this can make all the verses in the NT that deal with sanctification (such as Colossians 1:24) have to do with the church accomplishing atonement by following the law and by following works. Ultimately and apparently without even knowing it, the Kings have put themselves right back in that part of the OT age that denied Jesus Christ and crucified Him, who sought to establish their own righteousness. The jesus christ they espouse has to do with a jesus christ that supports their own ideas. This jesus can not save you and you will go to Hell if believe in him. Jesus said in Mathew 24:5 “For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.”
But are these conclusion necessary, or how could putting all these things on a chronological timeline lead to these conclusions? If Christ has come a “second time” to the living and not ideologically, and the church accomplished atonement because Christ could not do it in AD 33 then one must admit that a logical conclusion is that the church is Christ. And if the church accomplished atonement then man is saved by his own works rather than trusting in Christ having provided atonement for you. And if you are saved by your own works you will be judged by your own works in Revelation 20.
1 Corinthians 15:28 is used by the Kings to say that Jesus had a limited ministry. But since Jesus is God King is wrong. 1 Cor. 15:28 reads”And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.”
I would argue that we are directed by Scripture to only follow back again into the same age thinking as The Apostles and Jesus Christ. I call this belief Redirectionalism. It is still applicable to be a Christian today, the Bible does not advocate another dispensation.
