Every so often, my interview with Brian McLaren makes it on some blog or website that has some bone to pick either with me or with McLaren himself. This time, it's a hit on our "dislike" of Israel: What is emerging in the modern Church? In America - historically Israel's greatest friend - there is a growing dislike of the Jewish state among certain Christian groups. This follows a downturn in interest in Bible prophecy teaching in U.S. churches. You can read this entire entry here:

The gal is delusional in believing that God covets Semitic DNA above all other, and somehow justifies immigrant European Jews coming along and driving Palestinians out of there homelands.

Of course, it was mostly Protestant Germans acting through Democracy and the State, who perpetrated the Holocaust.

Yet, the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians by Jews is apparently above criticism for the gal and her blog.

Interestingly, even some scholarly Israeli Jews (a pointed out here on a link to a Tel Aviv article) suggest that Palestinians have more Jewish DNA and are closer descendants to the Jews of the time of Jerusalem's destruction in 70 AD, as compared to European Jews.

See the link and clip below.

Virgil, maybe your link to this same article is another reason why this gal mentioned your name, as well as McLaren, on her blog. I mean, it seems her Eschatology just can't stand it when someone is not for apocalyptic Racism and an ethnically pure Jewish State.

Peace to you all,
C. Livingstone

TEL AVIV // "No one is more surprised than Shlomo Sand that his latest academic work has spent 19 weeks on Israel’s bestseller list – and that success has come to the history professor despite his book challenging Israel’s biggest taboo.
Dr Sand argues that the idea of a Jewish nation – whose need for a safe haven was originally used to justify the founding of the state of Israel – is a myth invented little more than a century ago.

"An expert on European history at Tel Aviv University, Dr Sand drew on extensive historical and archaeological research to support not only this claim but several more – all equally controversial.

"In addition, he argues that the Jews were never exiled from the Holy Land, that most of today’s Jews have no historical connection to the land called Israel and that the only political solution to the country’s conflict with the Palestinians is to abolish the Jewish state..."

Yowsers. If someone was so inclined, they could instigate a real brouhaha in the commments (at that blog), and certainly come out on top.

I'd do it, but from my perspective, it'd be sorta like teaming with..."bad #2" to take down "bad #1". :)

*I was trying to come up with some other metaphor, but any I could think of all gave off the wrong idea. Lol.

Unbelievable. Would you guess what obsessive-compulsive individual has taken the opportunity to slam this website and our beliefs at that site?

It is perfectly believable how such a person would rush to side with even Dispensational proponents for an opportunity to slander Virgil and the Preterist position.

Of course, most Preterists are probably not Emergents. But it seems that some Emergents do hold to a Preterist Eschatology.

Peace to you all,
C. Livingstone

You're right, of course. Why should we expect anything else?

You gotta believe and trust in people somewhat, or life becomes impossible.

So, you're right, too, as that gentleman was proud to post his Preterist articles on this very site some years ago.

Woe, woe, woe ...
This Virgile dude must be a evile entrepeeneur like all them busy bossy peoples
that might try to patent the wheelbarrow ... or software ...
"... because nobody has yet filed on wheelbarrows. "

Is that any much different than scarfing up website names?

While some are busy about the bizness of name-throwing and blame-calling
and name-calling and blame-throwing,
do I have to be called a "hipper-preterist"?

Can I just be a matter-of-fact preterist?
I know what can be done ...
Yeah, now lets start a fund so we can buy up as many web names as possible
just to protect the honor of preterism --

mf(mof)(m-o-f), .org, & .net [mf for matter-fact], biblepreterism. joyofpreterism,
truepreterism, preteristpreterism, realpreterism, justsopreterism,
honestabepreterism, sensiblepretersm, factualpreterism,
simplepreterism, simplesimonpreterism ...
HYPER-califragilisticexpialidocious-preterism -- .com & .net & .org & .tv & .us & .au, ... etc

or something like that

:) :)
