Departed from truth...

Since PlanetPreterist got started, hate-mail was part of the weekly E-mail routine, therefore we decided to start a new topic to neatly file all message that we receive from "critics". Unfortunately older messages are no longer available, so we are starting from scratch...

Revelation, the Fulfillment of the Covenant Curses of Leviticus and Deuteronomy

Revelation is a book full of strange images and judgments. A number of these judgments are very similar to the plagues of Egypt (waters turned to blood, Rev. 16:5; frogs, Rev. 16:13; great hail, Rev. 16:21, etc.). Is there any special reason why Revelation uses the particular images that it does? I believe the answer to this question is a definite yes.

Study Finds Bias in Media Labels

Sometimes the most subtle forms of prejudice are as revealing as the most blatant.

The raised eyebrow, for instance, can be a show of bias no less than the discriminatory hiring policy. The muffled smirk can be a show of bias no less than the discriminatory housing policy. And the artfully chosen adjective can be a show of bias no less than the discriminatory comment about race or gender, character or motives.

Welcome to the Miami Valley Church Website!

Please direct any questions to Virgil or Terry.

Shocker: Pledge Ruling Put on Hold !

A day after he shocked the nation by declaring the Pledge of Allegiance unconstitutional, a federal appeals court judge put his ruling on hold Thursday. Circuit Judge Alfred T. Goodwin, who wrote the 2-1 opinion that said the phrase "under God" violates the separation of church and state, stayed his ruling until other members of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals decide whether to change course.

Timetexts of Christ's Second Coming: A letter to a friend.

This is my first article writing from a preteristic stance. I had a chance to write a letter to a friend tonight, and I jumped on it. I immediately started writing away, and I ended up with this article, a report on the timetexts of the Second Coming. Please just read this and comment if you will. My friend is a pretribber, and unknowingly is also very dispensational. Here it is.

Pledge of Allegiance Unconstitutional?

The Pledge of Allegiance is unconstitutional and should not be recited in public schools because it includes the words "under God," a federal appeals court ruled Wednesday. In its 2-1 decision, the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals overturned a 1954 act of Congress that inserted the phrase "under God" after the phrase "one nation" in the pledge.

Cancer Cure?

There has been a major breakthrough in the fight against cancer, according to Purdue University researchers, who said that they have cured 200 lab mice. Researchers said they have created a wonder drug concoction of ingredients that patients already take. In fact, according to the team of scientists, the drug has the potential to cure one-third of all human cancers.

The Spirit of Prophecy is Released

Colorado Springs, CO--Thirty years ago Max King shook the foundations of modern Bible interpretation by writing The Spirit of Prophecy. Throughout the '70s and '80s, this book changed the way people thought about the "last days." Now this classic of fulfilled Bible prophecy has been completely updated and republished as a fast reading biblical introduction to eschatology.
